Experience the BLK INK Book Festival! The four-hour live event is a book expo comprised of 50+ local and regional authors showcasing over 100 books in all genres, including romance, sci-fi, women's literature, urban fiction, children's books, and more. In addition, enjoy music, storytelling in the garden, local author VIP exhibits, and the creative ambiance of the beautiful city of New Orleans, Louisiana.

The event is 100% open to all authors and artists regardless of race, religion, sex, or sexuality. It is free to the public; pre-registration is requested. Click below to register.

SUNDAY, MAY 12, 2024, the day after the book fair.


Join us for a voyage through time at the historic Whitney Plantation Museum in St. John the Baptist Parish, LA. Receive your custom Black Writers Workspace journal and pen and write in honor of our ancestors who survived the Middle Passage and slavery over 200 years ago. Fellowship with writers from across the country and enjoy Cajun cuisine during a ‘Legacy Luncheon.’ The fee is $110 per person. Fees include bus transportation to and from the museum, the museum entry fee, a custom writing journal and pen, and lunch. Open to all writers.
